How do you explain the difference between wound and damage?
I often talk with Serbian. I talk with Serbian more than Japanese thesedays. This is not an exaggeration. I always enjoy talking because all of them are really kind and friendly. One day I was talking with one of them about Japanese flooring material which is called tatami. As you know when we walk on tatami with our shoes on, it could be damaged. I told her that it could be ''wound'' when we walk on tatami with our shoes on. She bursted into laughter suddenly and she said ridiculous but I could not make out why she did. I asked her why she did. She taught me the difference between wound and damage. She said that when human or animals are injured, you have to use ''wound'' and when things are damaged, you have to use ''damage''. I made out why she did and I bursted into laughter together. I really really enjoyed talking with her. I knew in my head how to use, but I don't know anything unnatural about that. I am irritated with myself not being able to feel strange. If I were able to feel strange, I could use the word ''wound'' on purpose when tatami is damaged in order to make laugh. If I crashed my car into a utility pole and put a band-aid on my car in order to prevent infection, many people would burst into laughter. This situation may be similar to my mistake. I want to put a band-aid on my car in order to make people laugh and I want to ''wound'' my jeans.
